METHODS AND PHILOSOPHY
At PONNY, English Pre-school we believe that children learn well through play based activities. This is why we aim to provide a homely environment where all children feel happy and valued. We encourage the children to actively participate in their own learning. The teachers keep working on creating an atmosphere where, we hope, the children will want to explore and learn more. We actively encourage positive relationships where children have high levels of self-esteem and self-confidence, developing care and respect for themselves, others and their environment.
As we are an English Pre-school with children from all over the world all communication is in English. We also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework for England. This enables the children to continue their primary education in International Schools. We balance and enrich the six areas of EYFS with Czech Pre-school Curriculum in the last year of attendance to prepare the children for further education in Czech or English language.

Each theme has got a principle attached to it, and each principle has four commitments. They help the teachers to focus on all areas concerning a child.
PONNY WEEKLY PROGRAMME (Children 3 – 7 years)
Horse riding (every Monday)
Once a week the children do horse ridding. All under the supervision of an experienced instructor.
Music Club (every Tuesday)
The children learn new songs, poems, perform stories and learn how to play musical instruments. There is also space to explore different sounds and to sing songs of their choice.
Art Club (every Wednesday)
Art Clubs are based on stories, festivals or different projects. Last project the children worked on was Elmer, The colourful Dinosaur - based on a story, followed by a museum visit and finished by a magnificent dinosaur painting that is on display in our pre-school.
Tennis (every Thursday)
It takes place once a week . Tennis coaching is available throughout the year.
Swimming (every Friday)
It takes place in an indoor pool, the lesson is lead by an instructor. During the Summer months an outdoor swimming pool is used instead.
Drama Club
It is an after school club which is not compulsory. It is run by an outer agency - Domino theatrical Company

Our aim:
Provide a safe, caring and stimulating environment
Provide a balance of child-initiated and well-planned, carefully structured activities for your child based on his/her individual developmental needs
Provide a well-balanced curriculum, that meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Czech Pre-school curriculum
Have fun and be creative
Provide regular opportunities for communication, where parents and teachers can exchange and discuss information concerning the child's development
Provide lots of activities outside the pre-school and teach the children to be good mannered when on the tram, walking on the pavement or going to the theatre (interaction with real world)
Provide many opportunities for children to become independant with the knowledge of right and wrong
Provide children with healthy diet - Organic food
